Key hires Memphis coach Kyle Pope as a defensive assistant
Georgia Tech football coach Brent Key continues to build out his defensive staff making his second hire of the 2024 cycle tabbing former Memphis defensive line coach Kyle Pope.
Pope had been at Memphis since 2020 after working at Liberty before that. Key worked with Pope at Alabama in 2017 and 2018 where Pope was a grad assistant defensive line coach under Nick Saban.
Pope served as linebackers coach at Liberty and has helped produce impressive defensive lines in the AAC.
He will join Jess Simpson on the new defensive staff. Both coaches have experience coaching the defensive line as well as other positions.
