Georgia Tech Football Practice Notes and Quotes 8/10

ATLANTA- Georgia Tech football continued Fall Camp on a rainy Wednesday morning in the city. After practice, defensive coordinator Andrew Thacker and senior linebacker Ayinde Eley spoke with the media for the first time in camp. Thacker spoke about the evolution of the new roles on his defensive staff and the input head coach Geoff Collins is adding to that room while Eley talked about his group of linebacker teammates and luring former Maryland teammate Kenny Bennett to the Flats after he entered the portal over the summer.

Thacker was asked about his role as the play-caller on game days and he said that will be his role this fall with some input from Collins expected.

"I think we addressed most of the big things in the spring about calling it on game days, I still have that opportunity," Thacker said. "Anything that (Coach Collins) ever advises me there, there is no ego from my side... Geoff Collins is the head coach at the Georgia Institute of Technology because of his success as a defensive coordinator and I truly respect that."
