After a return to GT, Smith makes the call

Top defensive tackle target Austin Smith visited Georgia Tech for the second time this month and this time he left a Yellow Jacket commitment. The three-star defensive tackle from Ola HS in McDonough has always been big on Georgia Tech and he made things official Friday becoming the eighth commitment for the 2018 recruiting cycle.

"I'm committed to Georgia Tech," Smith said. "Thanks to coach Johnson and coach Speed who recruited me."

Smith is one of two defensive tackle commitments for the Jackets for the 2018 class joining T.K. Chimezda and he is the eighth overall commitment for the Jackets class. Tech has several holes to fill on the defensive line and with signee Antwan Owens set to play strongside end, getting two quality defensive linemen is a big key for the 2018 class and the Jackets have those spots filled now.
