Where Collins, Georgia Tech stand following Tatum's commitment

In a bit of.a Thanksgiving Day eve stunner, Georgia Tech landed four-star Rivals250 LB Trenilyas Tatum, flipping him from his long-standing commitment to South Carolina. Tatum becomes the 20th commitment in the class, and the second four-star for Geoff Collins and his staff in this wild recruiting cycle that is the Class of 2021.

Tatum chose the Yellow Jackets over Ole Miss, South Carolina, and several others. He adds a total of 113 points to the team rankings total. Those points leapfrog Georgia Tech from 27th nationally all the way up into the Top 25 at No. 22. The Yellow Jackets jumped Kentucky, Arkansas, and Pitt among others.

That ranking (22nd) is also good for a jump to 5th overall in the conference. While it is unlikely for Collins and his staff to catch Clemson, Miami, or UNC, the Cardinals of Louisville remain in arms-reach.
