Tagovailoa-Amosa talks GT

Three-star Kapolei (Ha.) defensive tackle Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa has a busy stretch coming up with his recruitment. He has taken official visits to USC and Georgia Tech, but he will squeeze three further visits into a two-week window. Those trips will begin at Navy where his brother currently plays then to Notre Dame and finally Vanderbilt.

Tagovalia is busy this week with the Polynesian Bowl where he named USC as his leader, but Georgia Tech is right in the thick of things. He says the relationships with the coaching staff will be a key factor in his decision.

“What I’m definitely looking for is the relationship that’s there. I want to see the priorities that the coaches look at, that they all have set for each program. But mainly the priorities that each and everyone of them have. I want to see how organized they are from top to bottom.

Tagovailoa-Amosa talked about his visit to Georgia Tech in December.

“It was awesome,” Tagovailoa-Amosa said of his December trip to Georgia Tech. “The engineering school is what I learned about. I really liked how they’re just pressing to me education and how good they are. And how every school, it’s about the power of the degree that I would hold. And I really like how the coaches were explaining to me how even when I’m still in school, I can go find a job and get paid while I’m in school. They named some players on the team that make a lump sum of money and they’re still on the team.”

Tagovailoa-Amosa says USC, Georgia Tech, Navy, Notre Dame and Vanderbilt are his final schools.

“Definitely, educationally they’re top notch schools that provides some of the best education,” Tagovailoa-Amosa said. “I know that with these five schools, that the degree I will hold when I graduate will have so much power to it. And not because of the degree itself but because of the name of the school I went too.”

Education may be an even bigger factor than athletics.

“Education, that is the biggest factor,” Tagovailoa-Amosa said. And football, of course you’re going to look into the football. But I don’t think rankings play a role only because any year, any school can have that break out year. But definitely educationally, these schools play a big role in my recruiting.”
