Stoudamire adds veteran coach Karl Hobbs to his first GT staff

Damon Stoudemire has been working on putting together his first coaching staff while recruiting and trying to keep key pieces of the Georgia Tech men's basketball program in place. He added a key piece this week landing Rutgers associate head coach Karl Hobbs to his staff. The Scarlet Knights aimed to keep Hobbs in New Jersey, but Stoudamire was able to land the former George Washington head coach and longtime UConn assistant.

Hobbs joined Steve Pikiell's first Rutgers staff leaving UConn after his second run in Storrs in 2016. He has been a longtime top-tier assistant for Pikiell, Kevin Ollie, and Jim Calhoun as well as a strong recruiter of the DMV and the Northeast.

The hire is the second piece of the coaching puzzle after Stoudamire added Kennesaw State and former Columbus State standout Pershin Williams earlier this month.
