UPDATED 9:15 pm- Georgia Tech safety target Jayden Barr made the trip across from the east side of Atlanta for his official visit to the Flats over the weekend. The Eastside HS standout ended up committing to Georgia Tech on Monday night after thinking about his trip to Atlanta.

"They really laid down the red carpet for me and the coaches and players showed me a good time and we just had fun. AP was my host and he took me back to his spot and took me under his wing and we had a lot of fun and he showed me what it was like being a Georgia Tech football player is about," he said.

As far as his fit in the defense, Barr sees himself as a pure safety.

"They see me as a safety and more of a strong safety type," Barr said of his fit in the Tech defense.

Barr spent time with head coach Brent Key as well on the visit and he laid out his plan for him at Tech if he were to commit. The visit put Tech squarely in Barr's top two as he nears a decision.

"Coach Key is a real down-to-earth kind of guy and he makes sure you are set for football and life," he said. "Georgia Tech is one of my top schools now and I have one other school that is in my top two with Georgia Tech with UCF. I'm going there next week."
