Jackets add third transfer

On the heels of star power forward Robert Carter Jr. leaving for Maryland, Georgia Tech head coach Brian Gregory added former Alabama forward Nick Jacobs. Jacobs took a leave of absence late in the Crimson Tide's SEC schedule and he will have one season to play for the Jackets either this year if he is granted some type of hardship or for 2015-16 after he sits out a year. He was released from his scholarship last month by Alabama.
Last month, Gregory added center Demarco Cox from Ole Miss and point guard Josh Heath from South Florida. Cox can play this year and Heath is expected to get a waiver from the NCAA after his dad, Stan Heath was fired by USF where he was the head coach.

The Jackets have room for one more scholarship player and are set to host former Maryland post Charles Mitchell in a few days for an official visit. Mitchell is seeking a medical hardship and would have two years of eligibility remaining.
Jacobs was a four-star center coming out of South Atlanta HS in 2011. He averaged 8.4 points and 3.5 rebounds this past season for Alabama.
