Howard flips from ECU to GT

Georgia Tech picked up their B-back for the 2017 recruiting class from Rock Hill (SC) Northwestern running back Jerry Howard. Howard visited the Flats on Saturday for the Virginia game and committed on Monday after talking with the Yellow Jackets staff.

Rivals Southeast Analyst Woody Wommack said that Howard is a nice fit for the Jackets' spread option attack.

"Howard is a big-bodied back who should fit nicely into Georgia Tech's triple-option offense. We've seen backs of his size have success, especially this year with the Dedrick Mills, who has a similar build, having a big season. I think he's more of a developmental prospect than Mills, but clearly the coaches like his potential."
