Practice Notes 8/24

ATLANTA-- Georgia Tech is preparing for a simulated game against Boston College on Friday and Jackets' head coach Paul Johnson wasn't exactly pleased with the effort he saw on Wednesday.

"Today drug a little bit," Johnson said of Wednesday's practice. "Today is the first day I felt like I had to challenge them a little bit and they hit a wall."

Johnson says the key right now is keeping the players' legs fresh and that is a constant battle in camp.

We will have one more practice tomorrow and then a game scrimmage on Friday then they will have the weekend off. That will start to get their legs back. Really Friday, the way those game scrimmages work the way the defense is, they will only get about 30-40 snaps hopefully and you run the clock and the offense won't get more than 40 or 50 snaps if they are playing correctly so it won't be a big deal and they will have the weekend."
