After a weekend trip to Georgia Tech, five-star center Wendell Carter is done with his official visits and the No. 5 player in the class of 2017 has had a change of plans for the early signing period.

Down to Tech, Duke, Georgia and Harvard, the 6-foot-10 big man at Atlanta (Ga.) Pace had planned to wait until after the early signing period to make his decision. Sunday night, though, he informed that he now plans to go ahead and sign at some point during the early period which begins Wednesday.

Before talking about his plans to reveal his decision, Carter briefly went over each of his four finalists.

Georgia Tech: “It was pretty good. I just toured everything and went out with the team. They want me to stay home and be the hometown hero.”

Duke: “It was also pretty good. It was like the other ones where I toured and went around with the team.”

Georgia: “They said similar things to Georgia Tech. I really like Coach Fox and Coach Hayes. They are really good people. They have really good guys down there. They are doing all they can to win games this year.”

Harvard: “Oh yeah, of course I’m still considering them. They give you the best of both worlds.”

Carter doesn't know which day or what time he'll reveal his decision, but it is coming soon.

“I’m going to be signing early," he told "I’m just going to put it up on Twitter. I’m going to make a video and put it up on Twitter. I’m not sure when exactly it will be.”

Duke has been considered the behind the scenes leader for Carter since the very beginning of his recruitment. With a decision looming, the Blue Devils still appear to be in great shape to score Carter’s signature as a member of their 2017 class. Visits to Georgia, Georgia Tech and Harvard all impressed Carter, but it is looking like Mike Krzyzewski and the Blue Devils will win out again.
