Bolden commits to Tech

Fresh off a visit to Georgia Tech 2012 three-star shooting guard Chris Bolden is nearing a college decision. The North Gwinnett (Ga.) star and Rivals 150 player has a bunch of offers, but says he now knows where he will play his college ball.
Georgia Tech emerged as the leader after the Yellow Jackets offered and Bolden had a chance to meet with new head coach Brian Gregory.

"It was great," Bolden said of his recent Tech visit. "Coach Gregory is a great guy. The Georgia Tech offer means a lot. Georgia tech offers a great opportunity for me and a lot of positives are tied into the opportunity to play there. I have committed to play at Georgia Tech."
Bolden who was committed to Miami before they fired Frank Haith had a top group that includes Georgia Tech, Miami, Virginia Tech, Tennessee, George Mason, Mississippi, South Carolina and Texas, but one school stood out the most.
"Georgia Tech is my leader. The relationship I have with the coaches and Tech being close to home are the main reasons," he said prior to his commitment Saturday night. "With my family, friends, and other coaches so close that is big too."
Gregory really impressed Bolden during their one-on-one time.
"Coach Gregory is an honest coach and is about his business and wants to win. He is a very determined man. He said Georgia tech is the best opportunity for me. And with him being a new coach, he wants me to be there first commit," Bolden said. "I'm very close to making a decision."
Bolden is the first commitment for the 2012 basketball recruiting class for Georgia Tech and the first Tech commitment for Coach Gregory since taking over the program this summer.
