3-star RB Jamauri Bogan commits to WMU
P.J. Fleck and the WMU coaching staff received more good news today on the recruiting trail, as 3-star running back Jamauri Bogan gave the Broncos their 19th verbal pledge of the 2014 class.
Bogan arrived in Kalamazoo late last night, and met up with the WMU coaching staff today for an unofficial visit. Hours later, he committed.
Bogan's commitment is significant for several reasons; one being that it addresses a major position of need in the class.
It's also significant in the fact that Fleck was able to pull in his first recruit from the East Coast, presumably connected to his time spent as an assistant coach at Rutgers in 2010.
With the commitment, Western Michigan continues their climb in the polls to 27th nationally, according to the Rivals.com database. They trail 2013 future Big Ten opponents Northwestern (26th) and Michigan State (25th) by less than 100 points.
Bogan is the highest rated running back to commit to Western Michigan since graduating seniors Tevin Drake and Dareyon Chance in the 2010 class.
Jamauri Bogan held offers from Georgia Tech, Old Dominion, Temple, Toledo, UMass, and Western Michigan, and was getting interest from Arkansas, Northwestern, Ohio State, Penn State, Rutgers, UCLA, and Virginia.
