2013 South Florida WR ready to camp
In 2011, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida's University School produced corner back prospect Devin Gaulden, who ultimately signed with Wisconsin.
For the 2013 class, the South Florida school is rich with talent, including a pair of wide receivers already getting early interest. One of which plans to camp at Auburn this weekend.
Dionte Taylor already holds offers from Eastern Michigan, Marshall, and Miami (OH), but is looking for more come Saturday.
"I want to go out and perform well, and see how I fit in down there with that offense and that program," said Taylor. "I know they run a high tempo offense and that's what I like."
Taylor believes he strengths of his game are his crisp route running and his soft hands.
"I'll do anything they ask me to do," Taylor said.
The 6-foot, 170-pound prospect recently camped at the University of Miami and felt like he performed well. He hopes to carry that over to the Auburn mini camp.
"I went to a Miami camp and did really well, and I plan to do the same at Auburn," Taylor said.
This will be Taylor's first visit to Auburn, and he is looking forward to seeing the home of the national champions.
"I know it's going to be a great campus, I'm anxious because there is so much tradition and it's an SEC school," Taylor said.
Last season, Taylor moved to the University School and had the opportunity to go up against Gaulden on a daily basis. Taylor said going against the upperclassmen and Division 1 talent helped improve his game.
"I was still the young person of the group, and as we went on it became a friendly rivalry and we had fun," Taylor said.
In addition to Taylor, University School has another standout 2013 receiver prospect with a host of high caliber scholarship offers in Jordan Cunningham. Cunningham may make the Auburn camp, but has yet to make a decision.
