Clemson picked up a punter commit on Tuesday evening. Bradley Pinion from Concord (NC) Northwest Cabarrus verbally pledged to the Tigers.

"I called Dabo (Swinney) about 20 minutes ago and told him," Pinion told Tigerillustrated.com. "I told him I'm all-in."

Swinney was with offensive coordinator Chad Morris and three-star QB Chad Kelly at the time.

"He passed the phone over to both of them," Pininon said. "I told (Kelly) to commit, too, and he said he's making his decision on Thursday."

The 6-foot-6, 220-pounder was recruited by special teams coordinator Danny Pearman.

"I haven't even told coach Pearman yet," Pininon said. "I like the coaches, the atmosphere and everything there at Clemson."

Clemson's punter, Dawson Zimmerman, graduates after this season.

"It's my job for the taking," Pinion said. "It's right there for me."

He chose Clemson over offers from North Carolina, Rutgers, TCU and East Carolina.

As a junior, Pinion averaged 68 yards per kickoff with a 4.1 second hang time. He averaged 38 yards per punt with a 4.3 hang time and hit 7-of-12 field goals with a long of 42 yards. He also connected on 25-of-26 extra points.

Pinion started a buzz around the recruiting circuit with a 100-yard kickoff at the Southern Showcase in Flowery Branch, Georgia in May. He also averaged 56 yards a punt with a long of 71 at the event.

Rivals.com ranks Pinion as the nation's No. 3 kicker.

Pinion becomes the Tigers' eighth commit of the 2012 class.
