Alamo means opportunity for Ducks

Bowl selections are never about fairness, competitive strength or who deserves to go. Oregon got passed over for a BCS bid for two reasons. The first is money. Clemson and Oklahoma travel better, and the Orange and Sugar Bowls have conference tie-ins and contracts that favor selections from the ACC and Big 12.

The second reason is, the Ducks stumbled when they had the opportunity to control their own destiny. It's a valuable lesson about staying committed to a Win The Day mentality and keeping focused on today's practice and the next game.
