Mends gets a closer look at Iowa

Last month, Kansas City linebacker Aaron Mends made a visit to Iowa to attend a one-day camp with the Hawkeyes and walked away with his first scholarship offer. This weekend, the 6-foot-1, 204-pound Mends returned to Iowa City to get a closer look at the campus and talk with the coaches and players to see if being a Hawkeye might be the right fit for him in college.

"The first night, I went up there and ate dinner and just talked to everyone really," said Mends. "I hung out with some of the players just to see what it is like every day there and what they do outside of football."

"Then the second day, we woke up and had breakfast and then had some individual time with the coaches," he continued. "We talked about the school, went on a tour, and learned about the history and tradition at Iowa."
