Scouting Report: QB Luke Rubenzer

Cal got its quarterback commitment for the 2014 class when Saguaro (Scottsdale, Ariz.) signal-caller Luke Rubenzer committed last week, shortly after receiving a scholarship offer from the staff. The offer came on the heels of a strong performance from Rubenzer at Cal's one-day skills camp last Sunday. Amongst the quarterbacks in attendance, Rubenzer ran the fastest 40 yard dash (4.69), had the highest vertical jump (33 inches) and recorded the second-fastest shuttle time (4.28 seconds).

In 2012 Rubenzer threw for 2,834 yards, completing almost 69% of his passes. He threw 36 touchdowns against just six interceptions. Rubenzer also ran for 1,184 yards and 10 more touchdowns, averaging 8.5 yards per carry. That averages out to almost 335 yards of total offense per game.
