Coaches' Corner: Damion Hobbs

The Oregon Ducks knew they wanted to sign a quarterback with the Class of 2013. Despite starter Marcus Mariota returning following his sensational freshman season along with redshirting frosh Jake Rodrigues and Jeff Lockie, head coach Mark Helfrich wanted to keep the pipeline charged with signal callers with the target five players on scholarship at the position.

Cedar Hill (Tex.) dual-threat quarterback Damion Hobbs was committed to Utah State prior to his late January visit to Eugene. Helfrich and offensive coordinator Scott Frost offered the 6-foot-3, 215-pound athlete during his trip and he committed soon thereafter.

Duck Sports Authority caught up with the coaches involved in recruiting Hobbs to get their insights into the Lone Star State athlete.
