QB Barmore busy with camps

When quarterback Stephen Barmore was a freshman at Southington High School in Connecticut, his head coach was D.J. Hernandez. Since then, Hernandez has moved on to coaching stops at Brown, Miami, and now Iowa, while Barmore has blossomed into a potential Division I recruit. This week, the two had a chance to meet up again as the 6-foot-2, 205-pound quarterback attended a one-day camp with the Hawkeyes on Monday.

"I flew in for the camp yesterday and then I took a campus tour today, and I thought both went very well," said Barmore. "I was able to meet with Coach Hernandez, who is recruiting me, and work a lot with Coach Davis at the camp."

The Hawkeyes are still looking to add a quarterback in this year's recruiting class and are currently in evaluation mode as they look at all of the options that are available. Barmore, who threw for 2,010 yards and 18 touchdowns his junior year, made a good impression at Monday's camp and remains in contention for an offer.
