Tulane gets commitment from St. Aug. DE Peter Woullard

Most prospects have ironclad opinions about what position they will play in college, but new Tulane commitment Peter Woullard is an exception. Recruited as a defensive end out of local St. Augustine High, he is all about the team first, even if requires him to change his body before making the short trip uptown.

"I told them if they need me to move down to the 3 technique, I will put on some weight and do it," said Woullard, who is 6-feet-3, 240 pounds. "It depends on what the team needs. We had a 3-4 scheme (at St. Aug) last year. I had a lot of (reps) outside, and I moved down to the inside sometimes. It was pretty even."

Almost everything Woullard says comes out as logical and well thought out. Although early commitments don't always stick if BCS programs start recruiting them, Woullard appears rock solid with Tulane after taking an unofficial visit last weekend with his mother. Even what he termed sudden interest from Miami-- he said other schools looking at him were Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Texas A&M, Arkansas State and Kansas -- did not sway him from choosing the Green Wave.

"I love the coaches," he said. "I love coach CJ (Curtis Johnson). He's a real nice guy. I love the academics about the school. I love how they help out the athletes with their academics. I just love the overall feel. I feel at home over there. I know I can trust the coaches. I know they are 100 percent with me."
