Four-star JUCO DT returns to Mississippi

Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College four-star defensive tackle Toby Johnson finally visited Mississippi State over the weekend.

A month ago the 6-foot-4, 305-pounder was scheduled to take his official visit to Starkville but inclimate weather caused his flight to be cancelled on multiple occasions that weekend.

So instead of marking the Bulldogs off his list and signing with one of the other 26 schools that have offered earlier this month, Johnson simply delayed his decision until he could reschedule the MSU visit.

And Johnson is glad he did.

"I liked the visit a lot," Johnson said. "Me and my family really enjoyed it. I got a chance to hang out with some of the players and go to a baseball game. I met the president (Dr. Mark Keenum) and do a lot of exciting stuff."

The visit was also a chance for Johnson to be back in his native Mississippi as well as to be reunited with his mother and younger brother. It had been two years since Johnson had seen his mother.
