Auburn DB attends Miss. State junior day
Auburn, Ala., cornerback Antreal Allen picked up one scholarship offer before his junior year was complete.
Now the 5-foot-9, 181-pounder is spending his spring focusing only on football in hopes of securing more.
Last fall, Allen helped lead the Tigers to a 11-2 record and into the quarterfinals of the Class 6A State Playoffs. Auburn suffered a heartbreaking loss to Opelika 8-7 to end their season.
"My junior season went good but we could have done better," Allen said. "We lost in the third round to our rivals. I played defense and offense during the season. I did pretty good. I'm not going to play baseball this spring because I'm going to try to put on some more weight and add some more speed."
Allen received his first scholarship from Arkansas State in November and has also been hearing from Southeastern Conference programs Georgia, Mississippi State, Tennessee and hometown Auburn.
So far, Allen likes what he has seen and heard from MSU.
