Montelus recaps latest trip

John Montelus visited Boston College yet again last weekend and the Everett lineman spoke with EagleAction.com to recap how that trip went.

Montelus is probably more familiar with BC than any other school recruiting him and that's something that has to make Frank Spaziani and his staff feel good.

He has always had good things to say about the Eagles but the assistant coaching shakeups in Chestnut Hill did introduce some uncertainty. It sounds like that has been resolved and won't be a factor from here on out.

"It was a really good trip," Montelus said. "It was a last second decision to go and I'm glad I went.

"Me and Mo (Maurice Hurst Jr.) and Tevin (Montgomery) are actually really close boys. We text each other and stay in touch.

"I basically went up just to watch them practice and see the offensive line and everything. They've got a brand new coach, Coach Bollman, and he's changed the system a lot. He's got a lot going for them."

What did he think of Bollman?

"I've talked to him a few times now and he's told me they really want me. He seems like a great guy to me," Montelus said.

That all sounds good for BC but don't go overboard just yet. The Eagles will have to patiently wait as other schools make their case.

On April 17, Montelus will visit Florida and after that he will go to Notre Dame and Rutgers. At the beginning of the summer he hopes to visit Ohio State.

What's his timeframe from here on out?

"By the summer I hope to have a top five or a top seven, something like that," he said. "I don't know who's going to be on it yet."

The 6-foot-5, 295-pound lineman is a four-star prospect and a member of the Rivals250.
