Thomas looking to hear more from Michigan
Dallas (Ga.) East Paulding junior running back Kamani Thomas lived in Albion, Michigan as a youngster, and has always had an affinity for the Wolverines. He visited his childhood favorite over the weekend on a visit that his father set into motion.
Thomas was in Michigan Stadium for the Wolverines' 28-7 victory over San Diego State, and enjoyed what he saw. The atmosphere and the game itself both lived up to his expectations.
There was one part of the visit that left something to be desired, however. Thomas didn't get the one-on-one time with Michigan's coaches that he was expecting.
With no offer imminent for the ball-carrier, he'll continue touring schools this fall. He plans to see several SEC schools this season, including Georgia and Mississippi State. Thomas has already visited Alabama, and may make visits to Tennessee and LSU later in the season. That list of schools is no surprise for the 5-9, 180-pound speedster, who packs surprising power as a runner.
Given the list of schools that are recruiting him, he'll have to make a tough choice somewhere down the road. However, one school stands above the rest early in the process. It just so happens to be the one he most recently visited.
He'll have to find out if that offer is on the way once he sends in his senior film.
