Your best bet is in Midtown (6-10 blocks off campus- East side).

Vortex - GREAT burgers and beer

Hudson Grill - Sports bar/Restaurant that has hundreds of TV's and patio

Taco Mac - Same as Hudson

Six Feet Under - Bar and Fish House with great food, beer, and Tv's. This is located about 1 mile on the other side of GT campus (West Side off Howell Mill Rd - My favorite restaurant).

There is also a bunch of small restaurants right across campus on the 5th street bridge called "Tech Square". I think its Spring Street and 5th. Moe's Southwest Grill, Tin Drum, Yogli Mogli, Ribs and Blues, Gyro King, Chuck's Famous, Barrel House, Subway, Starbucks, Ray's Pizza (Not bad, has beer as well), and Waffle House . This is literally a 3 minute walk off campus (well its technically on campus now).

As a visitor, I would hit up the Midtown spots and try Vortex or Hudson. That way you get to experience a little bit of the city life I guess.
