Ruoff explosion beats USF

WVSports.com West Virginia got 11 points from senior guard Alex Ruoff when it needed them and broke open a close game in the second half and routed USF 64-50. This was the third consecutive Big East game on the road for the Mountaineers and it showed early as the team's leading scorers, Da'Sean Butler and Ruoff, missed a combined six of their first seven shots. Ruoff was 0 for 1. But backed by a 1-3-1 trapping zone defense, Ruoff scored a 3 to close the first half for the Mountaineers, enabling them to go ahead 30-27. The game had gone back and forth for most of the first 20 minutes.
