January 13, 2008 - The game winning shot of yesterday's 72-69 Georgetown victory over Connecticut unfolded as such: With 31.3 seconds to play, G'Town junior Jessie Sapp corralled a rebound, and his coach, John Thompson III called timeout. After that break, the Hoyas, tied at 69 with UConn, came down court and purposefully shuttled the ball between players. With approximately nine seconds left in regulation, sophomore DaJuan Summers dribbled behind the arc, right of center floor, before passing to an open teammate, one whose defender had sagged at least 15 feet off him. This player, seeing he was wide open, calmly sank the game winning three pointer, sending the sizeable crowd in D.C.'s Verizon Center into bedlam.
