GoPowercat Q&A: Gary Chandler

GoPowercat.com Safety Gary Chandler has earned a starting role during his first year at Kansas State. The junior has racked up nine tackles in the Wildcats' first three games, and has been an effective compliment to veteran defensive back Marcus Watts in the K-State secondary. The usually football-orientated Chandler broke his focus, however, when he sat down with GoPowercat.com for an exclusive interview about a variety of topics, football related and otherwise.
Take me through your recruiting process with Coach Ron Prince. When he first got here, I kind of kept up with him. A few weeks after he got here, Coach Prince wrote me a few hand-written letters. Once I got here, I really liked him, and I liked the whole coaching staff.
Did you always want to play football at a big time program? It has certainly always been a goal of mine, because in Wichita, not a lot of people make it. It's certainly a big deal to all the people back home.
You've been here for a while now, what do you think of living in the Little Apple? I love it. I love all of the fans here. The support they give the football team is just unbelievable.
