St. Paul gunslinger A.J. McCarron is widely considering one of the top candidates for the state's top honors in the junior class. There has been discussion that McCarron, 6-foot-4, 180-pounds, might be ready to pull the trigger and end his recruitment by giving a verbal commitment before the start of his junior year. But the Mobile native said that is not the case.

He continues to consider Alabama, Auburn, LSU and Tennessee. Other possibilities include Michigan and Louisville.
