Amidst a season full of disappointments, the emergence of redshirt freshman tight end Riar Geer was a pleasant surprise for the Buffaloes last fall.

The 6-foot-3, 245-pounder became the first freshman to ever lead the Buffaloes in receiving. He hauled in 24 passes for 261 yards and three touchdowns.

"Being a freshman and being able to contribute was pretty cool," Geer said this year during spring practices. "But the way we were playing, it was kind of bitter sweet."
