Mat drills nearing halfway point
With four of Florida State's nine mat drill sessions in the books, the players are nearly halfway through the team's annual off-season conditioning program.
Several players believe the early morning February workouts are the most difficult part of being a Seminole. At least a majority of the players know the ropes having been through the routine at least once. But that isn't the case for 22 rookies that are going through the program for the first time. One of those mat drill rookies is freshman offensive lineman Daron Rose.
"It's going pretty good, I'm just getting adjusted to the intensity and everything," Rose said. "It's a whole different level from high school."
