Punters ready to split time

GoldandBlack.com When Coach Joe Tiller started talking about a two-punter system recently, it sounded like a fine idea to fifth-year senior Casey Welch, who would be the main beneficiary of such a move.
Under the plan, which Tiller has employed previously at Purdue, junior Jared Armstrong would be Purdue's primary punter, with Welch coming in for the occasional "pooch" punt when the Boilers are trying to pin their opponent deep within its own territory.
"Anyway I can get on the field and help the team, I'll be more than happy to do it," said Welch, a fourth-year Boiler who was awarded a scholarship last week.
