James Harden commits to Arizona State

ASUDevils.com Arizona State landed perhaps its highest ranked commitment from a guard in school history when Artesia, Calif., senior James Harden, a likely future McDonald's All-American, called coach Herb Sendek on Wednesday and pledged to play for the Sun Devils, a source familiar with the recruitment informed ASUDevils.com.
Earlier this year, Sendek was able to achieve a major coup, when he convinced former McDonald's All-American and Duke transfer Eric Boateng to play for the Sun Devils, but the Harden commitment far surpasses even that triumph.
Harden turned down offers from Arizona, UCLA, Washington and a number of other highly regarded national programs in order to commit to ASU, and this development lends credibility to the belief that the Sun Devils will be a Pac-10 contender sooner rather than later.
