Sooners Find their Future at Left Tackle?
It was just over a week ago that Oklahoma picked up a commitment from Allen, Texas linebacker, Tay Evans, a Sooner legacy. Tay wasn't the only son in the family that the Sooners wanted as his little, but bigger, brother Bobby Evans, a 6-foot-4 and 240-pound 2015 tight end has also been receiving interest from the Big 12 program as well.
There has been talk that an offer could happen soon for Bobby but had yet to take place leading up to this afternoon. Having been in Norman back on July 2 with his brother, the two of them and a family member returned today after having set up the visit with offensive coordinator, Josh Heupel and offensive line coach, Bill Bedenbaugh.
The former West Virginia coach showed the brothers around on their visit today and close to the end extended an offer to Bobby, who jumped at the opportunity on the spot and committed.
"I committed on the spot when he offered me," Evans said. "I was like 'so, could I commit right now' and he was like 'yeah' and I went ahead and did it. My brother was excited and the coaches were excited. It was a pretty cool experience."
